I'm Dr. Kevin Anderson and this is my wife, Sue-Ellen. Welcome to our web site, designed to help you learn more about chiropractic care and our Zionsville, Indiana office, opened in 1988. This site was simply designed and written by us, without advertisements or cookies, to give you a first hand look at our practice. For more detailed information about chiropractic care, back pain or neck pain, headaches and how a chiropractor may help you - or to schedule a consultation with Dr. Anderson, please feel free to email or call us.
Dr. Anderson grew up in Brazil, Indiana and, like most kids, played sports in high school. During one football game, he was tackled from behind, and immediately experienced knee pain. When team doctors were unable to discover the cause of the pain in the knee, Dr. Anderson's uncle, a chiropractor, examined him and found a nerve that had been pinched in Doc's lower back. When chiropractic adjustments relieved the knee pain, Dr. Anderson decided that chiropractic was the career for him.
After completing his pre-professional training at Indiana University, Dr. Kevin Anderson graduated in 1987 with a Doctorate in Chiropractic from Logan College of Chiropractic, near St. Louis.
Following internships in the college outpatient clinic and with local private practices, we opened Anderson Chiropractic in Boone Village, across Oak Street from the present office, in October, 1988.
In 1997, construction on the present location at 1227 West Oak St. in Zionsville was completed, and the office has been located here since.
During the past 36 years, Dr. Anderson has completed technique studies in over 15 different chiropractic techniques, giving him a unique ability to tailor treatment to both adults and children, with injuries from automobile trauma and sports injuries, to chronic spinal conditions. Most recently, Dr. Anderson has completed extensive training in the biomechanics of the golf swing at the Titleist Performance Institute, giving him further insight into the injuries sustained by golfers.
Not only will our team treat your existing conditions, we strive to prevent pain and illness from reoccurring, and to help you improve your quality of life, achieve your wellness goals, and heal your body to live your best life possible.
In the State of Indiana, Chiropractic care is legally defined as "the diagnosis and analysis of any interference with normal nerve transmission and expression, the procedure preparatory to and complementary to the correction thereof by an adjustment of the articulations of the vertebral column, its immediate articulation, and includes other incidental means of adjustments of the spinal column and the practice of drugless therapeutics."
"The Chiropractor's main job is to determine where joints in the spine and extremities are not working correctly, causing interference with the nerve system. The nerve system controls every activity in the body, and studies have shown that by correcting abnormal joint motion, the resulting improvement in nerve system function MAKES PEOPLE HEALTHIER! All other forms of wellness, including nutrition, acupuncture, exercise (yoga & pilates), attitude adjustments and other "natural" or "alternative" forms of health care, are used IN ADDITION TO the art of the Chiropractic Adjustment, and the nerve stress that it reduces!" --Kevin L. Anderson, D.C.
Many Chiropractic methods have been developed to correct spine and joint dysfunction, and Dr. Kevin Anderson has been trained and certified in over 15 different methods. Some techniques are called by several names (i.e. developer's name, school, device or technology, etc.). If you have been told that a certain technique will work for you, or have experienced chiropractic care in the past with good success, we encourage you to discuss your need with Dr. Anderson. Building on steps you've already taken to improve your health will speed your recovery.
